Description:

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Rowan University seeks
a dynamic tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach courses in French (all
levels) and Spanish (elementary and intermediate levels) and to expand
departmental offerings in French, especially in applied fields, such as
translation and interpretation, French for the professions, and/or applied
linguistics, to begin September 1, 2018. 

Required Qualifications: 
Ph.D. in French from an accredited U.S. or equivalent non-U.S. institution.
Native or near native fluency in French, Spanish, and English. Relevant
teaching experience at the college level. Demonstrated commitment to an active
research agenda. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
Experience and interest in teaching and developing French courses in several
applied fields, such as translation/interpretation, French for the
professions, and/or applied linguistics. Experience teaching language,
culture, and literature courses in French (all levels).  Experience teaching
Spanish language at the elementary and intermediate levels. Candidates with
proficiency in technology in foreign language teaching and an interest in
teaching online or hybrid courses will be given greater consideration. 

Duties Include: A 3/3 teaching load is guaranteed for the first five years for
productive faculty and can be renewed with evidence of continuing scholarship.
Candidates must be committed to service, including advising and mentoring
students, and participating in department, college, and university service.
