Description:

Hofstra University’s Department of Comparative Literature, Languages, and
Linguistics is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach a graduate class in
dialectology, with an emphasis on variation in the structural components of
language (e.g., phonology, morphology, syntax). Regional specialization is
open. The course will be taught fall semesters starting in 2018. Candidates
are required to hold an MA or PhD in linguistics.

Additional teaching opportunities may be available depending on the emerging
needs of the undergraduate and graduate programs and on the candidate's areas
of expertise. 

Hofstra University is the largest private liberal arts institution on Long
Island, NY.  It is located 25 miles east of Manhattan and includes the
following schools: Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences: Peter S.
Kalikow School of Government, Public Policy and International Affairs; School
of Education; School of Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts; and School of
Natural Sciences and Mathematics; Frank G. Zarb School of Business; Fred
