Description:

Hofstra University’s Department of Comparative Literature, Languages, and
Linguistics is seeking an adjunct to teach Introductory and Intermediate
Swahili starting fall 2017. The ideal candidate will also be a linguist MA or
PhD with the ability to teach additional courses in the undergraduate and/or
graduate linguistics programs, depending on department needs. Non-linguist
Swahili instructors are also encouraged to apply.

Hofstra University is the largest private liberal arts institution on Long
Island, NY.  It is located 25 miles east of Manhattan and includes the
following schools: Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences: Peter S.
Kalikow School of Government, Public Policy and International Affairs; School
of Education; School of Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts; and School of
Natural Sciences and Mathematics; Frank G. Zarb School of Business; Fred
DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science; Hofstra Northwell School
of Medicine; Hofstra Northwell School of Graduate Nursing and Physician

Honors College.  There are about 500 full-time faculty members, approximately
