Meeting Description:

The Faculty of Humanities at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is
holding an International Symposium for Young Scholars in the Humanities. The
goals of this symposium are to foster and promote the research of young
scholars, and to engage Humanities and Kartvelologian Studies in international
academic discourse. 

Specialized thematic forums, as well as workshops, will be held within the
framework of the Young Scholars International Symposium, The theme of the
first forum is translation. The symposium will address both specialized and
interdisciplinary scholarly issues. 

PhD students and young scholars are invited to participate in the symposium.

The symposium will be held on 20-23 November, 2017.

Sections of the symposium:

- History and archaeology
- Language and literature
- Philosophy, ethics and religion
- Art and culture
- Interdisciplinary research

Working languages: Georgian, English, German, Russian


2nd Call for Papers:

Time limit: 
Presentation: 20 minutes
Discussion: 10 minutes

Please submit your applications for participation in the symposium and
abstracts by 20 September , 2017 to: youthscience at tsu.ge

Template for abstracts:

Font: Sylfaen, Times New Roman
Font size: 12 pt
Spacing: 1.5 lines
Length: maximum 1 page (250 words)

Abstracts will be submitted to the organizing committee. Participants will be
notified on 30 September, 2017. 
Participants will be awarded a certificate following the concluding session of
the symposium.

Registration fee:

Foreign researchers  - € 40
Georgian researchers - 40 GEL
Foreign co-presenters - € 70
Co-presenters (two co-authors) - 70 GEL

Tour in Old Tbilisi - free of charge

Museum tours:
Georgian National Museum - 7 GEL
The Museum of Soviet Occupation in association with the Georgian National
Museum
The National Gallery - 7 GEL
The Museum of Fine Arts - 7 GEL
Culinary and Wine Tour - 35 GEL
Excursion - 30 GEL
Banquet - 50 GEL

The registration fee includes:

- Printed material from the symposium
- Tea and coffee breaks during the symposium
- A banquet for symposium participants is planned on the opening evening and
will be held at a restaurant.
