Description:

With 6,200 employees in research, teaching and administration and its unique
profile, TU Dortmund University shapes prospects for the future: the
interaction between engineering and natural sciences as well as social and
cultural studies drives both technological innovations and progress in
knowledge and methodology. It is not only the roughly 34,200 students who

The Faculty of Culture Studies at TU Dortmund University is seeking to fill
the position of a Full Professorship (W 3) in English Linguistics
(Multilingualism), commencing as soon as possible. The successful candidate
should research and teach a broad range of topics in English Linguistics.

TU Dortmund University is seeking an outstanding individual and established
scholar in the field of English Linguistics with a special focus on individual
and/or societal multilingualism, who will have published in high-ranked
international journals. A track-record in acquiring external funding is
desirable. 

Applicants should contribute to interdisciplinary collaborative research
projects within TU Dortmund University and in research networks, especially
with a focus on multilingualism. 

An adequate contribution to the faculty’s curriculum (classes largely in
English, but partly also in German) is expected. 

The successful candidate should display social and leadership skills and be
willing to contribute to academic self-administration.

Hiring requirements are based on § 36 HG of the state of North
Rhine-Westphalia.
