Linguistic Field(s): Cognitive Science

Meeting Description:

The seminar is meant as a forum for researchers dealing with the grammatical
level of linguistic structure from the broadly defined cognitive-linguistic
(or constructional) perspective. The topics that it will address include, but
are not limited to, the conceptual interface between syntax and semantics,
variation in grammatical constructions, recontextualization of grammar-related
enquiry (the experiential and pragmatic background of grammar constructions in
use), intersubjectivity, idiomaticity/generality. It targets various areas,
including language production and comprehension, social identity,
conversational practice, typology, diachrony, language acquisition and
learning, approached by either empirical methods (corpus linguistic methods,
experimentation, neurological modeling) or by introspection.
