Description:

A full time post for a postdoctoral Research Assistant with expertise in
experimental linguistics is available in the School of Philosophy, Psychology
and Language Sciences, University of Edinburgh. The RA will work with Dr Chris
Cummins and Professor Antonella Sorace on the Leverhulme Trust-funded project
“Bilingualism, Pragmatic Enrichment and Reasoning Biases”. The project uses
linguistic and psychological experiments to investigate the relationships
between language background, pragmatic reasoning, and susceptibility to
specific cognitive biases in reasoning. The RA will be responsible for
important work on designing and conducting the experiments planned for the
project, analysing the data and reporting the findings.

Applications are invited from those with PhD in psychology, cognitive science,
linguistics, or a related discipline, and a strong track record of research
and publication in relevant areas.

This full-time position is 35 hours a week, and is available from the 1st May
2017 for a fixed-term period of 24 months.

Salary: £32,004 - £38,183 per annum.
