Description:

The Faculty of Education at Western University invites applications for a
full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (probationary),
Associate Professor (probationary or tenured), or Professor (tenured) in the
area of TESOL and Applied Linguistics.  Rank and salary will be commensurate
with qualifications and experience.  The preferred starting date for this
position is July 1, 2017, but is negotiable. 

Applicants must have:

- A PhD in Applied Linguistics, TESOL or related field
- A record of excellence in research in Applied Linguistics and (TESOL
- Track record of publications in Tier 1 international journals
- A record of excellence in tTeaching in Applied Linguistics and (TESOL)
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching students from diverse cultural
backgrounds in Applied Linguistics and TESOL programs
- Demonstrated leadership in academic positions and service organizations

In addition, preference will be given to applicants who have:

- Grants and/or history of funding
- Invited presentations at international conferences
- A record of excellence in graduate supervision
- Expertise in Applied Linguistics research methodologies

- A teaching portfolio which includes a teaching philosophy, a statement of
teaching interests and evidence of successful teaching experiences such as
course evaluations
- A description of research accomplishments and plans for future research
- A description of  their potential contributions to the Faculty
- A curriculum vitae
- An exemplary sample of their scholarly writing
- A Google scholar profile
- Names of three referees along with their contact information. 

Applicants are encouraged to submit materials via email with “TESOL and
Applied Linguistics Application” as the subject to deaned at uwo.ca. Review of
applications will begin after March 31, 2017 and will continue until the
position is filled.

This position is subject to budget approval. Applicants should have fluent
written and oral communication skills in English. The University invites
