Cari Amici,

Vi informiamo che è stato aperto il Bando di concorso per la 5ª edizione 2017
del BABEL FILM FESTIVAL.
La quinta edizione del Babel Film Festival si svolgerà a Cagliari dal 4 al 9
dicembre 2017.
Il Festival è promosso dalla Società Umanitaria - Cineteca Sarda, in
collaborazione con l’Associazione Babel, Terra de Punt e Areavisuale ed il
sostegno di istituzioni nazionali ed internazionali di grande prestigio. Il
Babel Film Festival si inserisce nel percorso che la Sardegna, la Regione, e
gli Enti Locali, stanno compiendo ormai da anni nell'ambito della salvaguardia
del patrimonio linguistico minoritario.

Il Babel è l’unico concorso internazionale al mondo dedicato esclusivamente ai
film parlati in lingue minoritarie, dialetti, slang o lingue “morte” e lingue
dei segni.

Grazie ai tanti partner e agli autori che hanno creduto nel progetto, il
concorso ha avuto notevoli riscontri anche a livello nazionale ed
internazionale, diventando in breve tempo una occasione di confronto e scambio
tra diverse popolazioni minoritarie. Nel 2016 il Festival è stato presentato a
Malta, in Olanda, in Germania e in occasione di diversi festival di partners
italiani. Importante è stato il rinnovo anche quest'anno del patrocinio del
Presidente del Parlamento Europeo, riconoscimento di grande prestigio per gli
organizzatori del Festival.

Come sempre il nuovo bando è aperto a lungometraggi, cortometraggi e
documentari parlati nelle lingue minoritarie del mondo.

Dear friends,

We inform you that is opened the Call for the 5th edition 2017 BABEL FILM
FESTIVAL.

The fifth edition of Babel Film Festival will take place in Cagliari from 4 to
9 December 2017.

The Festival is sponsored by the Humane Society - Sardinian Film Archive, in
collaboration with the Association Babel, Terra de Punt and Areavisuale and
eith the support of national and international institutions of great prestige.
Babel Film Festival is part of the path that Sardinia, the region, and the
local authorities, Babel Film Festival is part of the path that Sardinia, the
region, and the local authorities, are making for years in the preservation of
the minority linguistic heritage.

Babel is the only international competition in the world dedicated exclusively
to movies in minority languages, dialects, slang or ''dead'' languages and
sign languages.

Thanks to the many partners and Filmmaker who believed in the project, the
competition has had significant findings at national and international level,
quickly becoming an opportunity for discussion and exchange between different
minority populations. In 2016 the Festival was presented in Malta, the
Netherlands, Germany and at several Italian festival's partners. Important was
the renewal, also this year, of the patronage of the President of the European
Parliament, recognition of great prestige for the organizers of the Festival.

As always, the new call is open to feature films, short films and
documentaries in minority languages spoken in the world.

Les informamos que ha abierto la convocatoria por la 5ª edición de 2017 del
BABEL FILM FESTIVAL.

La quinta edición del Festival se llevará a cabo en Cagliari del 4 al 9 de
diciembre de 2017.

El Festival está patrocinado por la Sociedad Humanitaria - Filmoteca de
Cerdeña, en colaboración con las Asociaciones Babel, Terra de Punt y
Areavisuale y cuenta con el apoyo de instituciones nacionales e
internacionales de gran prestigio. El Festival es parte de la labor que
Cerdeña, la región y las autoridades locales, están haciendo desde hace años,
por la preservación del patrimonio lingüístico minoritario.

Babel es el único concurso internacional en el mundo dedicado exclusivamente
al cine hablado en lenguas minoritarias, dialectos o idiomas extintos, asì
como en slang y en los lenguajes de signos.
Gracias a el trabajo de los partners y a los autores que han creído en el
proyecto,  el concurso ha tenido resultados significativos a nivel nacional e
internacional, convirtiéndose rápidamente en una oportunidad para la discusión
y el intercambio entre diferentes poblaciones minoritarias. En 2016 el
Festival se presentó en Malta, en los Países Bajos, en Alemania y en varios
Festivales de partners italianos. Importante fue la renovación este año
tambièn del Presidente de la Unión Europea, reconocimiento de gran prestigio
por los organizadores del Festival.

Como siempre, la nueva convocatoria está abierta a los largometrajes,
cortometrajes y documentales en las lenguas minoritarias habladas en todo el
mundo.
