Description:

Duties   
The candidate will:
- teach TESOL-related courses (undergraduate level);
- supervise students in their teaching practicums;
- teach seminars in the Master's in Linguistics program (in language didactics
and/or acquisition, for instance) and supervise graduate theses;
- develop a research program and publish in his or her field of expertise;
- actively participate in the administration and development of department
programs;
- provide service to the university community and the region, within his or
her field of expertise.

Qualifications 
The candidate will:
- hold a PhD in second-language teaching or in applied linguistics;
- have university-level teaching experience (join teaching evaluations to the
application);
- demonstrate research expertise, with respect to publications and conference
presentations (join relevant work to the application);
- be a native speaker of English or have a mastery of English equivalent to a
native English speaker;
- have an excellent mastery of oral and written French (graduate seminars are
given in French);

Are considered assets:
- ESL teaching experience at the primary and/or secondary level, or have
knowledge of the ESL education system in Quebec;
- postdoctoral fellowships finished or ongoing;
- mastery (or have extensive linguistic knowledge) of a third language;
- incorporate current technologies in his or her teaching and in online
courses development.

Salary:
Salary is according to qualifications and experience.

Employment Conditions:
Working conditions are regulated by the collective agreement in place.

Place of Employment:
Chicoutimi, Quebec, and occasionally, surrounding study centres.

Starting Date:
August 1, 2017

language of instruction (undergraduate level) is English, the working language
