Abstract:

Dieser Band gibt einen Überblick über den Stand der Forschung zur deutschen
Wortbildung und damit über einen Aspekt der deutschen Grammatik, der in
letzter Zeit eher wenig Beachtung gefunden hat. Der Blick auf den Gegenstand
erfolgt dabei aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven: Behandelt werden der
aktuelle Sprachgebrauch, der historische wie der synchrone Sprachwandel,
Sprachkontakt und Sprachvergleich mit indoeuropäischen wie
nicht-indoeuropäischen Sprachen, und auch dialektologische Fragestellungen
sowie die Rolle der Wortbildung im Bereich der Toponomastik. Die
Berücksichtigung dieser höchst unterschiedlichen Gesichtspunkte führt
insgesamt zu einem umfassenden Blick auf das Phänomen.
