Description:
The Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Department of English,
American, and Celtic Studies invites applications for a PhD research position
/doctoral research position for three years (German scale TV-L E13, 50%) in
the area of English linguistics.
The successful candidate will teach one seminar (2 hours) per semester and
work on his/her PhD thesis in English linguistics.
The ideal candidate for this position will:
- Hold an excellent MA or equivalent degree in English or General Linguistics
with a specialization in English
- Have a solid foundation in English linguistics
- Have specific expertise in at least one of the following areas:
sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, corpus linguistics
- Have native speaker or near native speaker competence of English and a good
working knowledge of German
- Have very good knowledge of MS Office
The positions are available for three years, starting at the earliest date
possible.
The successful candidate is expected to take residence at or near Bonn.
