Description:
The Department of Linguistics at McGill University invites applications for a
part-time non tenure-track position at the rank of Faculty Lecturer, for the
period of September 1, 2017 to May 31, 2018. General qualifications are a PhD
in linguistics and demonstrated excellence in teaching in the area(s) of
specialization. The teaching load is 12 credits for the academic year. Duties
include teaching LING 200 (Introduction to the Study of Language, 3 credits)
and LING 201 (Introduction to Linguistics, 1.5 credits, one half of the
course, covering syntax and semantics) in the Fall and Winter terms, and LING
371 (Syntax I, 3 credits) in the Winter term, as well as supervision at the
undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
Salary: $37,500 (pro-rated for 9 months – 50K annual).
