Full Title: CALR Linguistics Journal

Linguistic Field(s): Applied Linguistics

Subject Language(s): English (eng)

Call Deadline: 31-Aug-2017

This call for papers is intended for CALR Linguistic Journal issue 8, due on
December 2017.

The drastic increase in the number of second language speakers of English has
shifted the cultural basis of English and significantly altered the nature of
English.

Researchers are invited to consider whether these changes have started to
challenge traditional assumptions of ELT pedagogy: that interest in learning
English is largely the result of linguistic imperialism; that ELT research and
pedagogy should be informed by native speaker modes; that the cultural context
of ELT should be derived from the cultures of native speakers; that the
culture of learning that informs communicative language teaching CLT provides
the most productive method for ELT.

In particular submissions should focus on attempting to answer the following
questions:

What are the defining features of an international model of English language?
Have these features altered the nature of English itself?
Should the pedagogy for teaching English change, as a result of this change?

submissions should be sent to CALR at aou.edu.lb

CALR Linguistic Journal is a double blind review journal that is indexed by
European Reference Index for the Humanities ERIH. Rejection rate is 30%
