Description:

The Department of Linguistics and African Languages invites applications for a
full-time position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in Theoretical
Linguistics, with a research focus in syntax  and a secondary focus in
semantics or morphology. The qualified candidate must hold a Ph.D. in their
teaching and research area. Required qualifications also include an
outstanding research record, evidence of teaching excellence, and demonstrated
success in meeting the needs of diverse student populations and /or reaching
out to diverse communities. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the
ability to work collegially and collaboratively within and outside the
university community and demonstrate leadership in research and in teaching,
able to lead and guide masters and doctoral students . 

Minimum Qualifications:

-Ph.D. in Theoretical Linguistics
- university-level teaching experience
-A record of high quality research and publication in Theoretical Linguistics

Established in 2009, Kwara State University is a non-profit public higher
education institution located in the the suburban setting of the medium-sized
city of Ilorin (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Kwara.
Officially accredited/recognized by the National Universities Commission,
Nigeria, Kwara State University (KWASU) is a coeducational higher education
institution. KWASU offers courses and programs leading to officially
recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas
of study. KWASU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and
services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.

samples of research, and teaching evaluations (if available), and names and
