Description:

The Department of English at the University of Basel invites applications for
a Lecturer in English Linguistics to teach students of English in linguistics
at BA and MA levels.

We are looking for an enthusiastic scholar with a PhD in Linguistics or
English and relevant teaching and research experience at university level. You
will join our vivid and research active department and collaborate with
colleagues in linguistics (http://engsem.unibas.ch/).

The teaching load is four 2-hour courses per term at the BA and MA level,
typically 2 introductory proseminars and 2 more specialized seminars in
linguistics per term. The specialization of your teaching is open, but should
complement the existing expertise in the department. Please note that this is
not a TOEFL position!

The starting date is February 1, 2018. The contract is limited to three years.

Your application should include a letter of motivation, CV, list of
publications, documentation of your teaching experience, a statement about
your teaching philosophy as well as a 15-30 page sample of your academic
writing.

Please also provide names and addresses of 2 referees.
