At Amazon we take pride in building complete end-to-end solutions, starting
from researching a problem, implementing the solution, building a scalable and
reliable service and ensuring the service is there when you need it.

The position is based at the Amazon office in Gdansk, Poland.

You are expected to have solid knowledge of a scripting language (e.g. Python)
and ideally a compiled language (e.g. C/C++) and be familiar with NLP
techniques. You will actively collaborate with software developers,
phonologists and phoneticians, who are subject matter experts in speech
synthesis and related fields. 

The tasks include:

- Normalizing textual resources through regular expressions.
- Writing scripts to automate parts of the tasks of the team.
- Apply NLP tools and techniques to solve specific linguistic issues in Hindi.
- Collaborate with phonologists and phoneticians to the formalization of
language models.
- Quality assurance of TTS voices and linguistic data.

Basic Qualifications:

- Native-level proficiency in Hindi.
- Solid knowledge of Python.
- Solid knowledge of regular expressions.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux command line tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledge of C/C++. Ability to amend code written in C/C++.
- Degree in computer science, computational linguistics or similar.
- Familiarity with software version control tools (e.g. Git).
- Solid communication skills.
- Strong personal interest in learning, researching, and creating new
technologies related to foreign languages, linguistics, phonetics, phonology
and language technology.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work
environment.
