Meeting Description:

The Japan Second Language Association (J-SLA) invites proposals for our 18th
Annual Conference of the Japan Second Language Association (J-SLA 2018). J-SLA
2018 will be held at Gakushuin University, Japan. Abstracts are invited for
papers or poster presentations on any theoretical or empirical area of
research in second language acquisition (SLA). The language of presentation
may be either Japanese or English.


Call for Papers:

Dates: June 16 and 17, 2018
Venue: Gakushuin University (http://www.univ.gakushuin.ac.jp/access.html) 
Invited Speaker: Dr. Leah Roberts (University of York)

Academic areas:
Abstracts are invited for oral or poster presentations on any theoretical or
empirical area of research in second language acquisition (SLA).

Presentations:
Oral presentation of papers will be allotted 30 minutes (20 minutes for
presentation, followed by 10 minutes for discussion).

Deadline for receipt of abstracts: February 28, 2018, 11:59pm, JST

Notification of acceptance: Around the end of March 2018

Abstract submission procedure:
- The length of the abstract should not exceed 1,000 words in English or 1,600
characters in Japanese.
- Submissions for oral and poster presentations should be formatted in 10.5 pt
Times or Times New Roman in English or 10.5 pt MSMincho in Japanese.
- Please note whether you are willing to participate in the poster session
should your paper not be accepted for oral presentation.
- Please submit your abstract as both Word and PDF documents attached to an
email and write “J-SLA2018abstract” in the subject line of your email.
- In the body of the message please include the following: 
your name
affiliation (in English)
address
telephone number
email address
type of proposal
(oral presentation, poster presentation, Student Workshop) 
language to be used for presentation (i.e., English or Japanese)
