Meeting Description:

On 25, 26 and 27 October 2017, Pontevedra’s Faculty of Education and Sports
Sciences shall host the third congress organized by the Lexicography Network
(RELEX), dedicated to the topic of lexicography, the didactics of the
discipline and, especially, the importance of dictionaries in the learning of
languages and other disciplines. 
 
The Congress shall focus on two thematic areas:
- Lexicography and teaching
- The dictionary in L1 teaching
- The dictionary in L2 teaching  
- The dictionary in the teaching of non-linguistic disciplines
         
- The teaching of lexicography
- Training users in dictionary use: What lexicographic skills should the user
have and how can they be taught? In what contexts?
-Training specialists in lexicography: What skills should lexicography
specialists have and how can they be taught? In what contexts? How are
practical learning experiences organized?
 
Structure of the Congress:
The first two days will be dedicated to plenary conferences, round tables in
which guest specialists shall take part, and to the presentation of free
communications that are in line with the previously mentioned thematic areas.
Plenary conferences shall have a maximum duration of one hour and free
communications shall not exceed twenty minutes of exhibit, followed by a brief
colloquium time.
On the third day, the morning session shall be dedicated to a workshop
organized on one of these two thematic areas:
 
- Teaching how to use dictionaries: practical activities.
- Use of the dictionary in the language classroom: practical activities
 
Plenary conferences:
Four plenary conferences shall be included, two per thematic area, over the
first two days of the congress, two in the morning and two in the afternoon
sessions. 
 
The provisional program with the conference titles and an initial organization
of the sessions shall be published at the end of May of 2017.

Round tables:
Two round tables shall be organized with the following topics:
- Uses of the dictionary in the classroom.
- New orientations in the teaching of lexicography: the masters of
lexicography.


Call for Papers:

Communication proposals may be presented until the 17th of July of 2017. A
250-word abstract should be sent, in a document attached to the following
email address: congresos.relex at gmail.com with specific indications of
authorship. Communication proposals shall be subject to the evaluation of
members of the scientific committee for their acceptance. The response
regarding the acceptance of the communication shall be sent prior to the 31st
of July of 2017.
 
The publication of the communications presented in the congress is expected to
take place after being subject to the review by two specialists, who may
