Meeting Description:

Dear all,

What is the impact of language tests on society and on the lives of test
takers?
At a time when unprecedented numbers of people are migrating in the hope of
finding a better life, language tests have become a vital component of the
migration policy, and the impact of tests on the lives of people is
undeniable.

On Friday September 22nd a number of renowned researchers will reflect on this
theme during ALTE’s 50th Conference Day in Leuven (Belgium).
Speakers include Lourdes Ortega, Jan Hulstijn, Constant Leung, James Simpson,
Bart Deygers, and Kris Van den Branden. The focal points of their talks are
low-educated learners, education, migration, and justice.
In the afternoon, we invite you to participate in one of our thought-provoking
workshops.

Registrations are open; for a very reasonable € 55 we offer you access to the
full programme and a lunch: https://alte50.wordpress.com/registration/

We hope you join us and make this conference a remarkable experience –
together we create more impact!

Kind regards,

The organizing committee
- Centre for Language and Education (KU Leuven)
- Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE)
