We are looking for suitable candidates to fill the following position:

Assistant Professor (Linguistics/Sociolinguistics) (Ref: AsstProf/LML/0617)
Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies
Faculty of Humanities

The Faculty of Humanities seeks applications for a full-time academic position
at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointee will be responsible for
teaching duties for undergraduate programmes and/or above; contributing to
programme development, engaging in departmental and school services, and
pursuing an active research and publication agenda, including the application
for research funding from external sources.

Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in Linguistics/Sociolinguistics or a
related discipline, with a successful record of research and teaching.
Preferences will be given to those specializing in one or more of the
following areas: discourse analysis, cognitive linguistics, or computational
linguistics, European Languages and Linguistics (including French and
Spanish). A capacity in conducting interdisciplinary linguistic research will
be an advantage.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits

applicable, housing benefits.
