Focus: The second edition of the course "Sociolinguistics today. Methods for the Analysis of Ancient and Modern Languages" will take place from 12 to 16 June 2017 at the University for Foreigners of Siena. The course (open to advanced students of linguistics) aims at providing the participants with instruments and notions for sociolinguistic analysis. Lessons will be taken in Italian and English.
Minimum Education Level: No Minimum


Description:
The course (32 hours in total) will be articulated into 7 modules managed both
by specialists in ancient languages and by specialists in modern languages.
Particular attention will be devoted to the theoretical frameworks for
sociolinguistic analysis, as well as to the influence on the research
methodology by the nature of the linguistic data (necessarily conveyed by
written materials, e.g., in the study of the past).

Tuition: 80 EUR

Tuition Explanation: The participation fee amounts to 80 Euro (for registration until May 14), and
100 Euro (for late registration). Students of the University for Foreigners of
Siena are exempt from the payment of the fee.
