Meeting Description:

The Department of Translation and Communication Studies of the University
Jaume I and the Department of Language and Translation Studies of the
University Pablo Olavide will hold the 11th International Conference on
Translation and Interpreting in Castelló de la Plana, Spain, on May 10-12,
2017. The current humanitarian crisis and the concerns caused by the increase
of populist speeches against the most vulnerable identities have led our
Departments to provide a forum to discuss how minority languages (both verbal
and sign) are approached by official institutions. The lines of the conference
include the legal framework for the prevention linguicism, translation and
interpreting policies, the creation of resources for the dissemination of
languages of lesser diffusion, the social perception and function of these
languages and problems of translation and interpretation in official contexts.

If you want to join us, early registration will be available until March 1st,
2017. We look forward to seeing you at the conference and we will appreciate
if you can spread the information to your contacts. You will find all the
details at blogs.uji.es/itic11/.
