Associate Professorship or Professorship of Spanish and Portuguese Linguistics

Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages and Faculty of Linguistics, Phonetic
and Philology in association with Oriel College, Oxford

 Grade 30S: £45,562 - £61,179 p.a.

The Faculties, in association with Oriel College, are seeking to appoint an
Associate Professor or Professor in Spanish and Portuguese Linguistics from 1
October 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointee will be expected
to engage in advanced research, supervision and teaching in Spanish and
Portuguese Linguistics.

The successful candidate will demonstrate: a research record in a related
area, including publications, of international standing appropriate to the
stage of the candidate’s career; a doctoral degree in a related area submitted
at least 2 months before the proposed start date; a good honours degree and
Master's degree in Spanish and/or Portuguese Linguistics; Fluency in English,
Spanish and Portuguese to native or near-native standard; Evidence of
excellence, or of the potential for excellence, in undergraduate and graduate
teaching.

A taxable and pensionable housing allowance, currently £8,088 p.a., is offered
for individuals who do not live in college. Also a £2,655 payment for those
awarded the title of full professor.
