Focus: Communicate with confidence in Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies' Summer Intensive Language Program (http://go.miis.edu/lingsilp) in beautiful, coastal Monterey, California. 

Program Highlights:

- Eight-week intensive program (equivalent to two semesters of undergraduate language study)
- Curricular focus on current world events and materials.
- Project-based to develop students' fluency in their own fields of interest.
- Up to 8 units available for transfer on the graduate and undergraduate levels
- Elementary, intermediate, and some advanced courses offered
Minimum Education Level: No Minimum


Special Qualifications:
Applicants must show academic readiness through their transcripts and a reference's contact information.

Our intensive program generally requires that students be at least 18 years of age. The Summer Intensive Language Program will occasionally admit exceptional students between the ages of 16 to 18. Participants under the age of 18 must provide proof that they are in custody of a legal guardian living in the local area.

Our 60-year-old program offers a well-rounded curriculum that allows students
to acquire and strengthen reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and
develop lexical and cultural knowledge of the target language while building
fluency though a communicative and content-based approach to engage students
in the learning process.
