Meeting Description:

This two-day workshop will bring together researchers, practitioners and
policy-makers to investigate and report on the teaching and learning of
languages in the primary school. Our focus will be on the symbiotic
relationship between research and practice, how research should support
teaching and how teaching should feed into research. The afternoon of 23 June
will be devoted to a practical exchange of ideas and experience, with
participating teachers invited to give 5-minute talks on their classroom
experience. Our keynote speakers are Professor Constant Leung and Professor
Victoria Murphy

Call for Papers:

We invite submissions from researchers and practitioners on any aspect of
language learning in the primary classroom. Papers should be 20 minutes in
length, with 10 minutes for questions.

Please send an abstract of no more than 300 words, including the (first)
author's postal and email addresses, and the names and affiliations of other
authors, if applicable, to ladeli at essex.ac.uk.

In addition, we welcome 5-minute presentations from practitioners during our
ideas-exchange session to be held on the afternoon of 23 June. If you would
like to book a slot, please contact us at ladeli at essex.ac.uk.
