Abstract:

This volume presents the complete orthographic rules of German, with chapters
devoted to sound–letter correspondence, the writing of compounds separately or
as a single word, hyphen usage, capitalization, punctuation, and
syllabification. Two additional chapters address the requirements we should
place on orthographic norms and problems related to various rules, including
how they can be resolved.
