Description:

Clinical Assistant Professor--Spanish Basic Language Program Director. Direct
and coordinate Basic Language Program in Spanish (60 to 65 sections per
semester (circa 1200 students per semester); blended program). Responsible for
supervision and review of course coordinators and instructors; selection of
textbooks; supervision of placement process. Serve on the department’s
undergraduate studies committee. Teach one course per semester in the
curriculum of the Department of Hispanic and Italian Studies. 

Qualifications: Candidates must be ABD (PhD preferred), have a strong teaching
record, and have research interests in Second Language Acquisition or a
related field in Hispanic linguistics. Native or near-native competency in
Spanish required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in
language program direction, materials development, and blended learning.
