Description:

General Purpose:  With the Director, articulate a strategic vision for the
Center for Language Study consistent with the vision and mission of the
university. Identify and prioritize pedagogical needs across departments and
programs. Provide oversight over the broad areas of faculty support, and
interdisciplinary instructional programs. Create a comprehensive model for
professional development for language instructional faculty, including
opportunities for instructional and curricular innovation, research, and
travel. Identify new directions in language education and innovative models of
instruction.

Review of applications will begin June 19, 2017.

Required Education and Experience:  Ph.D. or equivalent level degree in Second
Language Acquisition, (Applied) Linguistics, or related field. Minimally three
or more years of experience in program administration. ABD candidates with a
minimum of 5 years of experience in program administration will be considered.

Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
- Proven ability with strong managerial skills. 
- Organizational and project management skills. 
- Proven ability in and familiarity with such areas as second language
acquisition, applied linguistics, language teaching methodology,
technology-enhanced teaching and learning, and related fields. 
- Budget management skills and experience. 
- Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Proficiency in a foreign
language and teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
