Description:

Position overview:
A Linguistic Scientist/Data Analyst in the LINGUISTICS, ANALYTICS, & DATA
SCIENCE Group at ProSearch supports the custom search, technology assisted
review (TAR), and information retrieval needs of ProSearch clients. This role
requires communication with clients and internal teams to develop and
implement custom workflows that align the best tools, technologies, and
workflows to any situation. A Linguistic Scientist/Data Analyst works closely
with partners in the LADS team as well as other ProSearch Departments.

Please note this is not an NLP position. While knowledge of data mining and
machine learning techniques is highly valuable, we encourage candidates
meeting the minimum qualifications to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Understand document review goals and project constraints
- Develop, implement, and refine search and sampling strategies
- Analyze linguistic patterns in large corpora
- Report on findings and provide information tailored to the specific needs of
audiences that include attorneys, technologists, analysts, and executives
- Assess third party tools and develop business processes and documentation to
support their use
- Provide internal training and consultative support for Project Analysts and
Project Managers overseeing technology assisted reviews

Minimum qualifications:
- US citizen only
- MA/MS or PhD degree in an analytical field (e.g., Linguistics, Psychology,
Computational Linguistics, Cognitive Science, Human Language Technology,
Statistics, Mathematics)
- Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, R, and
SQL
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in working with large datasets, especially familiarity with data
mining and machine learning techniques
- Experience using natural language processing tools or workbenches 
- Knowledge of syntax, morphology, and semantics
