Description:

A position of Associate Professor (SKO 1011) in runology and the early history
of the Scandinavian languages is available at the Department of Linguistics
and Scandinavian Studies (ILN), University of Oslo.

The two areas of runology and the early history of the Scandinavian languages
at the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies comprise the study
of runes and runic inscriptions and the language in the period from circa 100
AD until the reformation in the Scandinavian countries. The position will
include teaching and research within both areas. One of the goals of this
position is to strengthen the collaboration between the research groups in Old
Norse Philology and Scandinavian Linguistics.

The successful candidate is expected to initiate and lead research, supervise
PhD candidates, participate in teaching and in exam setting and assessment at
all levels, and to carry out administrative duties in accordance with the
needs of the Department.
