We would like to inform you that we just released version 2.6 of LingPy, a
Python package for quantitative tasks in historical linguistics. This major
release only adds a few new features on top of the well-known algorithms
provided by LingPy, including methods for automatic cognate detection and
automatic alignment. Instead it provides fixes for many long-standing bugs. As
a result, it is a very stable version that allows users across all platforms
to work on automatic language comparison.
