Meeting Description:

The National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics (NINJAL) will
host an International Symposium, ''Exploiting Parsed Corpora: Applications in
Research, Pedagogy, and Processing'' Dec 9-10, 2017 in Tachikawa, Tokyo.
Topics to be covered include the development and enrichment of parsed corpora,
linguistic research using parsed corpora, and the application of parsed
corpora to language pedagogy. Invited speakers are leaders in the field,
including Susan Pintzuk, Anthony Kroch, Beatrice Santorini, Sean Wallis,
Nianwen Xue, and Liesbeth Augustinus.

This symposium is organized under the project ''Development of and Research
with a Parsed Corpus of Japanese'' in the Theory and Typology Division of
NINJAL.

The organizers of the NINJAL International Symposium ''Exploiting Parsed
Corpora: Applications in Research, Pedagogy, and Processing''
(https://events.ninjal.ac.jp/parsed-corpora/) are extending the deadline for
Poster abstracts to 1 November, 2017. Send a 1-page abstract to
corpora_applications at ninjal.ac.jp. Notification of acceptance will be issued
by 15 November.
