Description:

University of Delaware seeks an assistant professor in phonetics/laboratory
phonology.

The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at the University of
Delaware invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at
the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of phonetics and/or laboratory
phonology.  The position will commence September 1, 2018.  The successful
candidate will have a strong research program in phonetics and/or laboratory
phonology and will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching. 
Candidates must be able to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in
phonetics and ideally in phonology as well.  A secondary specialization in
sociolinguistics, endangered languages, first or second language acquisition,
communication disorders, or a related field is desirable.

Applicants for this position should have a PhD in Linguistics or related
field, or should expect to complete their degree requirements prior to

describing their research program, a statement of teaching experience and
philosophy (including evidence of teaching ability if available), and sample
publications.  They should also arrange for submission of at least three
letters of recommendation. We particularly welcome applications from members

December 1, 2017; for fullest consideration, all application materials should
be submitted by that date.

Speech-Language Pathology), and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics. The
Department is comprised of 11 full-time faculty and enrolls approximately 30
PhD students, 25 MA students, 300 undergraduate majors and 60 minors.
