Description:

Lionbridge is currently seeking people with native speaker fluency in the
following languages for lexical work related to voice recognition software: 

Tamil (with fluency in English India and Hindi)
Telugu (with fluency in English India and Hindi)
Malayalam (with fluency in English India and Hindi)
Kannada (with fluency in English India and Hindi)
Hindi (with fluency in English India)

Work Location:  Work-From-Home within the United States
Job Status: Employment, Hourly, Full-time, Temporary (candidates must be
authorized to work for any US employer)
Duration of assignment: 1 year (Full-time, 40 hours/week)

Training:
4 weeks of on-site training is required at the beginning of the assignment at
a designated location in the greater Boston, Massachusetts area or Santa
Clara, California. Training cannot be done remotely. Actual lexical work will
begin once training is complete. Travel and accommodations will be provided
for the training.

Requirements:
- Native speaker fluency in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada or Hindi. All
speakers must have fluency in English India and Hindi
- Cultural knowledge of Indian habits
- Degree in Computer Science, an advantage
- Previous experience working on lexicons
- Experience in machine learning is a plus
- Comfortable working under pressure to meet deadlines
- Experience working in a global team environment

Primary task focus:
Lexical work for the development of a personal assistant related to voice
recognition software

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the development of lexica 
- Large linguistic data review, corpus work; different tasks related to
guidelines (provided by Lionbridge)
- Annotations to parts of speech
- Creating dictionaries to improve speech recognition
- Tagging, improvements/QA of lexica
- QA (possible) – reviewing and identifying how clean the language is

Deliverables:
Word lists, lexical contents, spelling and grammar rules, languages specific
guidelines, dictionaries
