Meeting Description:

The 42nd Annual Penn Linguistics Conference (PLC42) will take place March
23-25, 2018 at the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia.

Invited Speaker: John Rickford (Stanford University)

The PLC is run by the graduate students in the Department of Linguistics at
the University of Pennsylvania.


Call for Papers:

The 42nd Penn Linguistics Conference
 
Submission Guidelines: Papers on any topic in linguistics and associated
fields are welcome. Session topics in recent years have included phonetics,
phonology, sociolinguistics, syntax, semantics, psycholinguistics, and
pragmatics. This year we especially welcome papers from P-side, socio, and
experimental linguistics, although all subfields of linguistics are welcome.
Speakers will have 20 minutes for their presentations and 5 minutes for
discussion and questions. The conference will also include a poster session
with catered lunch. Abstracts should indicate whether they are being submitted
for consideration as a talk, poster, or both. (See submission procedure on the
website.)

Deadline: The deadline for abstracts is November 20, 2017. Notification of
acceptance/rejection will be given by January 22, 2018.

Length: Please limit abstracts to two pages, single-spaced, including
examples, figures, and references. Examples and figures may be interspersed
with text. Do not include your name or affiliation within the abstract.
