Meeting Description:

The biennial ALLT conference brings together researchers and practitioners all
over the world to share their latest research findings and applications to the
field of applied linguistics and language teaching. Through exploring and
exchanging ideas among contributors, this conference aims to present research
state of the art in updated theories, advanced analysis, and teaching insights
that connect the empirical research to the practical. This conference also
proposes to inform frontline teachers of cutting-edge approaches as well as
the fundamentals of language acquisition in the classroom so as to provide
proper and timely scaffolds to equip learners with language and literacy
competencies, and more important, learning abilities required for the future
challenges. For 2018 ALLT, topics may include, but are not limited to, the
following:

- Second/foreign language learning strategies revisited 
- Technology enhanced language learning: CALL, MALL, and gamification 
- Psychometric applications in language acquisition and assessment 
- Problem-based approaches to literacy instruction 
- Research in multimodal language instruction 
- Language, culture, and socialization 
- Teacher identity and cognition 
- Translation and interpretation
- Issues in EMI, CLIL, and ESP 
- Corpus linguistics 
- Curriculum design

Call for Papers:

The conference invites abstracts of no more than 300 words in English for
double-blind peer review.

All abstracts (.doc or .docx) should be submitted via online system:

A volume of selected papers will be published after the conference. Authors
whose abstracts are accepted are encouraged to submit their papers for
consideration. All papers will be peer reviewed by at least two reviewers who
are experts in the field.
