Meeting Description:

The 41st GLOW conference (GLOW 41) will take place between 10-14 April 2018 in
Budapest, Hungary. It will be organized by the Research Institute for
Linguistics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences
(http://www.nytud.hu/eng/index.html). The conference will consist of a main
colloquium (11-13 April, Wed to Fri) and four thematic workshops (on Tue, 10
April and Sat, 14 April).

The main conference has no specific theme so scholars are invited to submit
and present papers within all areas of generative linguistics. Submissions on
phonological topics are especially welcome.

The following workshops will accompany the main colloquium:

- Long-distance segmental phenomena (organized by Péter Rebrus, Péter
Szigetvári and Miklós Törkenczy)

- Predication in relation to propositions and properties (organized by Maria
Polinsky & Marcel den Dikken)

- The Grammar and Pragmatics of Interrogatives and Their (Special) Uses
(organized by Beáta Gyuris & Hans-Martin Gaertner)

- Sign Language Syntax and Linguistic Theory (organized by Balázs Surányi &
Marcel den Dikken)

GLOW 41 will also be complemented by the yearly meeting of the Phonological
Theory Agora network with a thematic workshop on ''The necessity of
formalization in phonology''.


2nd Call for Papers:

The main colloquium of GLOW41 has no specific theme so scholars are invited to
submit unpublished papers within all areas of generative linguistics. We are
planning significant poster sessions, too. Submissions on phonological topics
are especially welcome. The workshops have their own topic and expect papers
relating to them.

An author may be associated with a maximum of two abstracts submitted to the
main colloquium, only one of which may be single authored. The same abstract
may not be submitted to both the main colloquium and a workshop. However, the
same person may submit two different single-authored abstracts to the main
colloquium and a workshop.

Deadline of abstract submission is 15 November, 2017.

Abstracts for the main colloquium and workshops are to be submitted via
Easychair. Please note that the main colloquium and the four regular workshops
each have their own submission site.
