Meeting Description:

The symposium aims to present state-of-the-art research on the typological,
phonetic, phonological, psycholinguistic, acquisitional, and technological
aspects of tonal contrasts. We invite contributions from all these areas. Also
welcome are contributions on non-tone languages and the use of tone in poetry
or song.

The Sixth International Symposium on Tonal Aspects of Languages will be held
in Berlin, Germany, from Monday, June 18 till Wednesday, June 20, 2018. TAL
2018 will be organized at Beuth University Berlin conveniently located in the
city center close to all major attractions. TAL 2018 is timed after Speech
Prosody 2018 in Poznań, Poland, June 13-16, only a three-hour train ride away.
TAL 2018 is supported by the International Speech Communication Association
and the ISCA SProSIG.

Call for Papers:

The symposium will continue the tradition of the previous five symposia,
aiming to present state-of-the–art research on the typological, phonetic,
phonological, psycholinguistic, acquisitional, and technological aspects of
tonal contrasts. We invite contributions from all these areas. Also welcome
are contributions on non-tone languages and the use of tone in poetry or song.
