Meeting Description:

The Arabic Linguistics Society together with Arizona State University’s
Department of English are pleased to announce the 31st Annual Symposium on
Arabic Linguistics to be held at Arizona State University in Tempe, on
February 23-25, 2018.

Papers are invited on topics that deal with theoretical and applied issues in
Arabic Linguistics. Research in the following areas of Arabic linguistics is
encouraged: linguistic analysis (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and
pragmatics), sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, discourse analysis,
historical linguistics, corpus linguistics, and computational linguistics.

Keynote Speakers:

Damir Cavar (Indiana University)
Kristen Brustad (University of Texas)
Reem Khamis-Dakwar (Adelphi University)
Usama Soltan (Middlebury College)

Fees:

Arabic Linguistics Society membership: $50 for students and $70 for
non-students.

Registration fees (required of all presenters at the symposium):

Through January 15: $50 for students and $60 for non-students
After January 15: $50 for students and $70 for non-students
