The Department of Modern Languages [http://modernlanguages.olemiss.edu/] and
the Croft Institute for International Studies
[http://www.croft.olemiss.edu/home/] at the University of Mississippi invite
applications for a tenure-track Croft Associate or Assistant Professor of
Spanish with a specialization in Second Language Acquisition or related field.
Required qualifications include a PhD in hand at the time of application, a
strong research profile in foreign-language pedagogy, native or near-native
fluency in Spanish and English, and familiarity with ACTFL guidelines (or
equivalent). Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching at the college
level, specifically in proficiency-oriented courses designed to help students
achieve advanced or superior levels of Spanish. Duties include teaching
upper-level classes in the Spanish language and field(s) of specialization;
helping Croft students studying Spanish achieve high levels of proficiency;
maintaining successful research; and performing service to the Department of
Modern Languages and the Croft Institute.
