Meeting Description:

The Department of Linguistics, University of Ottawa, will host its ninth
Ottawa Conference for Linguistics Undergraduates (OCLU) on Saturday, 25
November, 2017.  OCLU will also include a session for M.A. students. The
conference provides a supportive environment in which undergraduates and M.A.
students can disseminate their research findings, hone their presentation
skills, and network with other students and faculty who share their academic
interests. The Department of Linguistics aims to assist the professional
development of students interested in linguistics, and will provide conference
participants with the opportunity to visit research laboratories in
linguistics, and discuss their interests with both faculty and graduate
students.


Call for Papers:

Presentations, in English or French, will be 20 minutes long with 5 minutes
for questions. Abstracts should be submitted to oclu2017 at gmail.com by Tuesday,
31 October. Abstracts should be no more than 500 words long (excluding title,
references and examples). Please submit an anonymous version of the abstract
in Word format as a file attachment. In the subject heading of the e-mail,
please indicate: OCLU 2017 Abstract

In the body of the e-mail, please include the following information:

- Title of abstract
- Area of linguistics addressed by the abstract (e.g., syntax, phonology,
psycholinguistics, etc.)
- Name(s) and affiliation(s) of presenter(s)
- Degree program (Undergraduate or M.A.) of presenter(s)
- E-mail address of each presenter

Please note that selection of M.A. talks will be carried out separately from
that of undergraduate talks. Information about the conference will be posted
as it becomes available at the conference website.
