Description:

The Linguistics Department at Montclair State University invites applications
for a full-time tenure-track position in Linguistics for Fall 2018. Applicants
must have a strong background in theoretical linguistics (syntax, phonology,
morphology, and/or semantics) and a specialization in Second Language
Acquisition. Applicants studying any aspect of SLA are encouraged to apply,
although candidates with a research program that includes corpus-based and/or
experimentally-informed approaches would be an especially good fit with
current faculty. The successful candidate will be expected to teach
undergraduate and graduate courses, have an active research agenda, and
participate in graduate student mentoring and student advisement. Willingness
to provide service to the department, university and larger professional
community is also required. 

Demonstrated ability in grant seeking/writing is a plus as is experience
collaborating with Modern Language Departments and/or K-12 Schools. 

Earned Ph.D. in Linguistics required at the time of appointment. Evidence of
successful teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels and an
active research agenda including research in second language acquisition.
