Description:

Texas Tech University, a vibrant research institution with over 35,000
students, invites applications for the Qualia Professorship in Foreign
Languages with a specialization in Hispanic Linguistics and Second Language
Acquisition. The position is at the rank of Full Professor with tenure.
Associate Professors with exceptional credentials will be considered. The
successful candidate will have a distinguished record of publication, a proven
record of teaching excellence, and the proven capacity or clear potential to
bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University. Responsibilities
will include providing a leadership role in the Applied Linguistics program,
teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, and directing graduate research.
Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is required.  Service to the
department, college, and university is expected.  Salary will be commensurate
with qualifications.
