Focus: The Summer School of the Società Italiana di Glottologia (http://www.glottologia.org/) is an event organized annually since 1976 which brings together scholars from different domains of linguistic investigation. This year’s summer school focuses on the following topics:
- Sabellian languages
- interactional linguistics
- the rise of comparative linguistics
- the relationship between historical linguistics and philology
Minimum Education Level: Undergraduate


Description:
The School will take place from September 3 to September 5 2018 at the seaside
town of Lignano Sabbiadoro and on September 6 in Udine. The school offers four
advanced courses and an invited lecture. Please notice that the classes will
be held in Italian.

The instructors in the summer school are:
- Ignasi-Xavier Adiego (Universitat de Barcelona); course title: Le lingue
sabelliche
- Francesca M. Dovetto (Università di Napoli “Federico II”); course title:
Alle origini della Sprachwissenschaft: tra manuali e teoria linguistica
- Marco Mancini (Università di Roma “La Sapienza”); course title: Linguistica
storica e filologia testuale
- Franca Orletti (Università di Roma Tre); course title: La linguistica
interazionale, tra grammatica e pragmatica

Lecture: Paolo D’Achille (Università di Roma Tre), L’italiano per Pasolini,
Pasolini per l’italiano

Tuition: 230 EUR

Tuition Explanation: The registration fee includes tuition, full board treatment, transport service
to the conference venues, and an excursion to the “Pier Paolo Pasolini”
Cultural Centre in Casarsa della Delizia.
The summer school offers fee reduction to three BA or MA graduate who have
discussed a thesis on a linguistic topic and have gained a degree with highest
