Lecturer I/II (Ref: LI/II/LML/0318)
Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies

The appointee will be responsible for teaching introductory courses in general
linguistics, intercultural communication and modern languages (such as
Spanish, French, German).  The appointee is expected to commence the
appointment in mid-August 2018.  The appointment will be for a period of 1
year with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement. 

For the post of Lecturer I, applicants should have a Master’s degree in
Linguistics or a related discipline plus a minimum of 4 years’ relevant
post-qualification teaching experience.  Applicants should preferably possess
a relevant professional teaching certificate, e.g. PGDE or qualification of
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognised by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong
or other qualification of equivalence.  Proven evidence of quality teaching
and/or successful record of relevant professional experience is required. 
Significant contributions to in-school curriculum development will be an
advantage.  Applicants with less post-qualification teaching experience may be
considered for the post of Lecturer II.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe
benefits include leave and outpatient medical benefits.
