Topic for 2018: ''Theoretical and applied methods in studying multiple
grammars''

The 2nd Conference on Interdisciplinary Approaches to Linguistic Theory aims
to bring together scholars from theoretical linguistics, cognitive studies,
applied psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, clinical linguistics and
educational studies. Along with broad interdisciplinary issues, CIALT-2 will
elaborate more on the theme ''Theoretical and applied methods in studying
multiple grammars'' (language acquisition, L1-L2 interaction, multilingualism,
heritage languages, language change as well as registers). The conference
intends to promote communication among these disciplines by inviting research
on these issues and, the methodology and the tools used in accessing multiple
grammars. Special emphasis will be given on evaluating the methods employed
for accessing the evidence for a distinction between competence and
performance, the issues that shed light on the ways multiple grammars are
emerging, the role of interlanguage in processing, and the evaluation of the
input of each grammatical system.

Call for Papers:

The Conference on Interdisciplinary Approaches to Linguistic Theory 2
encourages submissions dealing with interdisciplinary theoretical and
methodological issues shedding light on the overall understanding of language
development, language processing and language modeling. The theme of CIALT-2,
''Theoretical and applied methods in studying multiple grammars'', intends to
promote research on all aspects of theoretical and methodological issues
involved in evaluating the emergence of multiple grammars.

Therefore, we welcome abstracts dealing with evaluation of theories, testing
specific hypotheses, discussing the (dis)advantages of specific experimental
tools and/or the effectiveness of certain baseline tasks. Within this spirit,
not only abstracts providing experimental evidence for a linguistic hypothesis
are welcome but also abstracts showing the shortcomings of a theoretical
approach leading to inconclusive results.

Domains: Theoretical & Applied Linguistics, Language Acquisition,
Neurolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, Cognitive studies, Clinical Linguistics.

Abstracts may be submitted for an oral presentation of 20 minutes, followed by
10 minutes discussion, or the poster session at
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cialt2 

Format: Abstracts should be submitted anonymously in PDF format, Times New
Roman 12pt,  with 1-inch (or 2.5 cm) margins on either side, maximum length 2
pages (including data,  pictures, and tables/graphs ) with an optional page
for references. Each author may submit a maximum of two abstracts (either one
single-authored and one joint- paper, or two joint papers). The conference
language is English.
