Meeting Description:

We are privileged to announce the 5th edition of the International Workshop
AttLis: The Attentive Listener in the Visual World, which emphasizes
multi¬modal cognition and the interaction between language and vision. Our
central focus is how attentional and visual processes interact with spoken and
written language processing.

The workshop is hosted by The Language Acquisition and Language Processing
Lab, NTNU – Trondheim, Norway (https://www.ntnu.edu/langdevlab).

The core theme of the workshop is the investigation of language¬-vision
interactions by means of methods such as eye¬ tracking, offering a window into
the mechanisms of how high-level representations involved in language and
memory interact with visual input. Other themes include the
(non)¬intentionality of language¬-vision interactions, the nature of
competition, selective processing, and learning and development.

The workshop seeks to encourage discussions with the aims of advancing the
field in novel and important ways and leading to close collaborations between
the participating researchers. The workshop also addresses how research in
this field can inform our understanding of developmental deficits, cultural
differences, consumer psychology and consumer neurobiology.

Topics (including, but not restricted to):

Cognitive psychology; Cognitive Neuroscience; Psycholinguistics; Computation
modelling; Judgement & Decision making; Consumer Neuroscience; NeuroEconomics;
Developmental sciences, Multi-modal integration in developmental deficits

Leading experts in the field have committed to giving the invited talks. There
are a number of available slots for oral presentations (20+10 mins.), as well
as poster presentations.
