Please find below a call for papers for a special issue of the International
Journal of English Studies (IJES) (http://revistas.um.es/ijes) that will be
devoted to the topic of innovation and research in the teaching and learning
of English.

New insights into the teaching and learning of the English language:
Innovation and research in higher education settings

The International Journal of English Studies (IJES), published by the
University of Murcia (Spain), is a blind, peer-reviewed journal which seeks to
reflect developments in the general field of English Studies. With this
Special Issue, our aim is to highlight the need to further our understanding
of innovation in the teaching and learning of English as a second/foreign
language. The scope of the Special Issue proposals can be on any phenomenon
that is consistent with the following topics:

- Implementation of ICTs in the classroom
- Corpus-based approaches to language teaching and learning
- Use of innovative pedagogical tools in higher-education settings
- Promotion of self-learning and entrepreneurship 
- Fostering of reflexive teaching and learning practices 
- Enhancement of communicative and intercultural competences
- Use of social media for teaching and learning 
- Use of massive Open Online Courses and other models

Important dates:
Deadline for submissions: 30 July 2018
Notification of acceptance: 30 January 2019
Expected date of publication: June 2019

Submission guidelines:
Manuscripts of 6,000-8,000 words (all sections included) should be prepared
according to the ''Author Guidelines'' section of the journal and found at
http://revistas.um.es/ijes/about/submissions#authorGuidelines. They must be
written in English and should include a maximum of 10 keywords and a 150-word
abstract. They should be submitted electronically through the Open Journal
System (OJS) at http://revistas.um.es/ijes/user/register. The manuscripts will
be registered within the section ''June 19 Special Issue''. Authors should
follow two steps: 
STEP 1: Use the following link to register on the official page of IJES and
upload your manuscript (http://revistas.um.es/ijes/login).
STEP 2: Inform the guest editors of your intention to participate in this
special issue by sending an email at innovation.ijes at gmail.com. Please specify
the topic of your contribution by selecting one of the above. Otherwise, your
contribution will be reviewed for the general volume of the journal.
