Meeting Description:

The Philippine Linguistics Congress, organized by the University of the
Philippines Department of Linguistics, aims to gather researchers and language
practitioners to discuss the most current advances in studies related to
Philippine languages, including comparative studies between Philippine and
foreign languages, and the application of linguistic theories to other
disciplines.

The conference will be held on 14-16 November 2018 at the University of the
Philippines Diliman campus in Quezon City, Philippines. Other details about
the conference will be released on our website in June. 


Call for Papers:

Abstracts dealing with theoretical, applied, or experimental linguistic study
of any Philippine language are invited for presentation at the conference.
Studies may be from, but are not limited to, the following fields of research:

- Structural linguistics
- Historical linguistics
- Dialectology and typology
- Language documentation and revitalization
- Language education and planning
- Language acquisition
- Computational linguistics
- Sociolinguistics
- Psycholinguistics
- Ethnolinguistics
- Translation studies
- Lexicography
- Clinical linguistics
- Philosophy of language

Abstracts may be in English or Filipino. Please email your abstracts to
